Tudor Fashion Icons: Exploring the influence of Henry’s queen’s on sixteenth century women’s fashion with Rosemary Griggs
Appearing in full period costume, author and speaker Rosemary Griggs will bring her unique blend of theatre, history and re-enactment to a lunchtime session to discover the impact Henry VIII’s queens had on Tudor fashion; from dress styles and headdresses, to embroidery and cuffs, Rosemary will explore which queen possibly made the most impact on what wealthy Tudor women wore at the time.
About Rosemary Griggs
Rosemary’s extensive research of Tudor fashion and its influences focuses on Katherine Champernowne, the mother of Sir Walter Raleigh, who was born and raised in Devon, not far from Cadhay House. Also, inspired by Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall Trilogy, Rosemary has written two novels based on the Champernowne family. She regularly tours and performs her unique and popular rendition of this fascinating topic to high acclaim.

‘Anne Boleyn – Wolf at the Door’ is a wonderfully entertaining musical story of the triumph and tragedy of Anne Boleyn, inspired by the images and characters of the Tudor court of Henry VIII, brought to life by Hilary Mantel in Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies. Bob will perform a selection of songs within the historic context highlighting the rise and fall of Henry’s most famous queen.

Bob Whitley is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who has been delighting audiences for over 30 years. Playing a wide range of instruments, including including bespoke tenor guitar and mandolas, he writes songs mostly inspired by history and politics. ‘Anne Boleyn – Wolf at the Door’ is one of his most recent and successful performances.
